SU to host two-day international conference on “Pakistan’s Unconventional Security Pattern: Powers and Challenges

KARACHI: The University of Sindh Jamshoro, with the support of Sindh Higher Education Commission, Government of Sindh will host the first two-day International Conference on “Pakistan’s Unconventional Security Pattern: Powers and Challenges” on June 24 and 25, 2021.

 

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah will attend as a special guest, chairman Sindh Higher Education Commission Dr Asim Hussain will also, participate in the two-day international conference chaired by Vice Chancellor Sindh University Professor Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro.

 

Dr Riaz Ahmed Sheikh, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Education, SZABIST Karachi, and Dr Ravi, Professor of Social Sciences and Humanities, School of History, Politics and Strategy, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia,. Chandran K Dakshina Murthy, Director of the OSS International Mechanism Center at Zhejiang University Hangzhou, China, Dr Zhang Zhangi, Shen Bin, Vice President of the Intelligentsia Institute Musai International Business Center, China, and Dr Agung Banyu, Professor of International Relations at the Indonesian Defense University Indonesia. Prof. Dr Adam Saud, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Bahria University, Islamabad will be participating as the keynote speaker.

 

The first two-day international conference on Pakistan’s unconventional security model will be held at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Convention Center of the University of Sindh and the Sheikh Ayaz Auditorium of the Arts Faculty Building, for which preparations have been completed.

 

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah will attend the opening ceremony of the conference. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. on June 24. After the recitation, Dr Ishrat Afshan Abbasi, Chairperson in charge, Department of International Relations and Conference Convener will deliver the introductory speech, followed by a special address by Dr Riaz Ahmed, Professor, and SZABIST. Similarly, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Dr Zarrin Abbasi will address the importance and usefulness of the conference. Alike, the presidential address will be delivered by the Vice-Chancellor and the patron of the conference Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro.

 

Later, Chairman Sindh Higher Education Commission Dr Asim Hussain will address the conference as the guest of honor. Similarly, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah will address the conference as a special guest at 10:20 a.m. and express his views on the structure of Pakistan’s unconventional security. The proceedings of the conference will begin after 11 a.m., in which eminent scholars will present their dissertations. Scholars will also present their research papers on the second day of the conference and make recommendations at the end.
