Sukkur Ombudsman office hear complaints against SEPCO, SSGC

LARKANA: Federal Ombudsman’s Sukkur Regional Head, Syed Mahmood Ali Shah, on Thursday heard 52 complaints against two federal government organizations. SEPCO and SSGC at the provincial ombudsman’s office here on Thursday out of which 32 were against SEPCO and 20 against SSGC.

Shah gave on the spot decisions on 28 complaints against SEPCO and four were fixed on the next date whereas 16 complaints against SSGC were decided and four were deferred for the next date.

He directed the SEPCO authorities to issue proper monthly bills to the consumers within 30 days based on meter reading without over-reading and charging extra on detection allegations which are unlawful. Suhail Ahmed Khuhawar, Revenue Officer, SEPCO, Larkana, and other WAPDA officials appeared before him.

Earlier, he watched poor people standing outside Utility Store and directed the incharge to arrange shade by way of erecting tents for the people so that they could be able to buy commodities on cheaper rates easily in this sizzling hot weather. He warned the SEPCO authorities to refrain from charging over-reading and on the pretext of detection charges or he will send their complaints to the federal ombudsman for taking up with the higher authorities.
