Summoning Mirwaiz, others to Delhi not acceptable: JKLF

Srinagar, March 12, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has said that Indian rulers who think that they can defeat Kashmir’s resistance by using the National Investigation Agency-type agencies are living in fool’s paradise. This was said by JKLF Senior Vice Chairman Abdul Hameed Butt while addressing a party meeting in Srinagar, today.

The meeting was organized to taking a stock of the present situation, incarceration of JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, slapping draconian Public Safety Act on him and putting him in solitary confinement, raids by NIA on Kashmiris, ban on Jamaat-e-Islami, unabated arrest spree and the summoning of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Naseem Gilani to Delhi by NIA. It was attended by all JKLF leaders.

Abdul Hameed Butt said that jails and incarceration were nothing new for resistance leadership and the people of Jammu Kashmir had been passing through this ordeal for the past seventy years. Terming recent NIA raids and summoning of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Naseem Gilani and others to Delhi an act of frustration and revenge, he said that upset by the people’s revolution of 2016, India’s fascist rulers started NIA theatre in 2017, and arrested dozens of resistance leaders, businessmen and students including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Shahid-ul-Islam, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Raja Meraj-ud-Din Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Zahoor Ahmad Watali, Shahid Yousuf Shah, Muhammad Aslam Wani, Shakil Yousuf Shah, Syeda Asiya Andrabi, Fahmida Sofi and Naheeda Nasreen.

Meanwhile, the representatives of business community while addressing a press conference in Srinagar, today, condemned the repeated harassment of Hurriyat leaders, organizations and institutions in occupied Kashmir. They denounced the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and NIA notice to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

The press conference was jointly addressed by Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kashmir Economic Alliance, Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation, Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir, Coordination Committee, Jamia Traders Association, Beopar Mandal Gunj, Central Traders and Manufacturers Association, Kashmir Welfare Transporters Association.
