Karachi:Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said Monday that the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SWMB) was in the process of removing the remains of the offals.
The operation would continue till night in which complaints elated to offals would also be addressed and all the collection points will be cleared by night while lime spray and disinfectants drive will be conducted, he said.
Meanwhile, Kashif Gulzar Sheikh, MD, SWMB, visited the landfill sites, collection points and areas where he inspected the removal of debris and other issues. The 4691 tonnes offal from Malir district, 10,389 tons from Central district, 5,004 tonnes from Korangi district and 9012 tonnes from western district were removed.
Eighty-five collection points were set up to collect the debris in one place, from where the dumper loaders and trucks continues transporting the debris. Under SWMB, on the third day of Eid, the removal and cleaning work will continue till night. Meanwhile, officials of SWMB in each district kept the monitoring process transparent after which the people got relief and better results came out.
