Islamabad, November 24, 2019 (PPI-OT): Commenting on the speech on CPEC by a US diplomat, spokesman of the Ministry of Planning and Development has stated that the views are based on wrong analysis and incorrect assessment of the facts. Major share of CPEC investment are allocated to energy projects. It is worthwhile to note that all the energy projects are in IPP mode and thus bearing no financial liabilities on the GoPakistan. For infrastructure projects, the amount is USD 5.8 billion and that too concessionary loan at 2.34% with tenor of 25 years. Islamabad, November 22, 2019 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform and Special Initiative Asad Umar has said that ongoing phase of CPEC will bring about socio-economic benefits for the welfare of the people, noting that the bilateral framework agreements has now entered into the second phase with focus on poverty alleviation, agriculture and industrial cooperation. Federal Minister was talking to Chinese ambassador Yao Jing who called on him at Islamabad on Friday. Minister stated that CPEC offers enormous potential to boost national economy and reduce poverty. Islamabad, April 18, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Planning Commission has released Rs 525 billion (78%) of the allocated PSDP during the current fiscal year 2018-19. Out of the total allocated amount of Rs. 675 billion in the PSDP 2019-19, 78% has been released to the ministries/divisions from 1st July, 2018 till April 17, 2019. It is pertinent to mention here that disbursement of development funds is going according to released strategy. On 17-4-2019 the release amount reached Rs. 525 billion against total allocation for current financial year. In percentage terms the release authorization in the current financial year 2018-19 stood at 78% as compared to 61% in the corresponding period of last year indicating a very healthy release position. Islamabad, July 11, 2018 (PPI-OT): Federal SDGs Support Unit, Ministry of Planning Development and Reform organised Pakistan’s First National Conference on Sustainable Development Goals in collaboration with UNDP-Pakistan. Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, and Finance Dr. Shamshad Akhtar was the Chief Guest. Addressing the conference, she stated that there are decent accomplishments in terms of advocacy and socialisation by the Ministry of Planning and Federal as well as provincial governments, however, SDGs must be advocated at much broader levels also.
