KARACHI:Major diagnostic machines at Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) have been lying out of order since two years as the hospital administration was unable to get them repaired , sources at CHK told PPI on Wednesday. The important diagnostic machines of Radiology Department like CT scan and MRI are not operational since two years. The incumbent hospital administration was reluctant to get them repaired, causing trouble to the visiting patients. Similarly, modern gamma camera device and angiography machine are also not functioning at Cardiology Department, CHK, since one and half years. CHK demands 400 medical staff to tackle Covid-19 cases

KARACHI:Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) administration has moved a summery to Sindh Health Department for posting of medical staff, including 48 doctors, to deal with Coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency situation. The CHK administration has demanded 200 staff nurses, 100 paramedical staff, 48 doctors (male and female) and other staff to counter COVID-19 pandemic. A summery has been moved by the health department for hiring of healthcare workers for 89 days or on regular basis. City’s major govt hospitals providing contaminated water to patients

KARACHI:The underground water reservoirs and overhead tanks of major government hospitals are not being cleaned on regular basis in Karachi, compelling visiting and admitted patients to drink contaminated water in this health facility, it learned on Thursday. An official at Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) told PPI that the underground water reservoirs of this health facility was not being maintained or cleaned on regular basis by the hospital administration. The patients have been compelled to drink health hazardous polluted water. (Health): Over 17,000 dog bite cases recorded in megalopolis

Karachi:Upto 17,000 dog bite cases have been recorded in three major hospitals of Karachi city from 1st January to 15 September 2020, PPI learnt Friday. The Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has registered a total of 6,500 dog-bite cases at Rabies Clinic. Similarly, Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) has recorded 6,000 cases and nearly 5,000 cases were reported in Indus Hospital Karachi. (Health): Burns Centre management asked to repair elevator within 24 hours

Karachi: Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) has directed the management of Burns Centre Karachi to make its elevator operational within 24 hours to end hardship to patients with burn injuries. The administration of Friends of Burns Centre (FOBC) running Burns Centre Karachi has been instructed for early maintenance and repairing of the faulty elevator to avoid hardships to the patients with burns injures and rescue workers shifting the patents. The elevator of Burns Centre was non-functional since two weeks and it is the responsibility of FOBC to maintain it regularly to end patients’ miseries.
