NICVD refutes corruption allegations

KARACHI:The Spokesperson for the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) issued on Wednesday a statement refuting all allegations of corruption at the facility. The allegations were made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh during a press conference. In the statement, the spokesman said that the allegations were made to serve "political interests". It further pointed out that Haleem Adil Sheikh, who had cited details from a report of The Auditor General failed to acknowledge that the report included observations, which will be replied to once the report has been received. Over dozen NICVD employees contract COVID-19 in a week

KARACHI:The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) has launched screening of doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and administrative officials after reporting of over a dozen coronavirus positive cases in a week.   Spokesperson, NICVD, while talking to PPI, said Tuesday that more than 12 employees of NICVD, including doctors, nurses, paramedics and others, had been tested positive for COVID-19 in a week. He informed that corona was spreading in different wards of the hospital, therefore, the administration had started screening of staff to control its further prevalence.   He further informed that majority of corona affected staff had been isolated at their homes but some had been admitted to the hospital. NICVD signs MoU for renovation and equipping of Paediatric Cardiology Ward

(Health): NICVD fails to reopen OPDs in full-fledged

Karachi:The routine Out-Patient Departments of National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Karachi still remain limited since three months despite the OPDs of others hospitals across Sindh province has already resumed their service. The limited time to the cardiac OPDs is posing a major threat to the lives of heart patients. The cardiac patients in Karachi are facing hardships as they are unable to get their routine checkups done from NICVD since five months. Presently, only 180 OPD tokens are being given to cardiac patients each day for routine checkup at NICVD Karachi as compared to over 2000 tokens while majority of such patients are unable to get their routine checkups.
