Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry conveyed his satisfaction with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Authority’s handling of cybercrime incidents.

This he informed during a session in the National Assembly . He informed the assembly of the recent appointment of a Director General for the authority and mentioned that a workforce of about five hundred is currently operational. Additionally, a proposal has been proposed to increase recruitment.

Chaudhry also announced that disciplinary action has been executed against Federal Investigation Agency officials involved in misconduct, with fiftyone staff members dismissed over the past two years.

The session saw the passage of the “Off the Grid Captive Power Plants Levy Bill,” introduced by Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik.

Addressing a Point of Order, Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi discussed initiatives to reclaim encroached railway land and the revival of old railway routes, such as the RawalpindiChakwal Line, to foster tourism.

In response to a Calling Attention Notice, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf assured that comprehensive arrangements are in place for Pakistani pilgrims in Makkah Mukaramah and Madina Munawwarah, with daily monitoring of these facilities.

The assembly also passed a resolution, urged by Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Mueen Wattoo, calling for immediate condemnation of India’s unilateral decision to suspend the Indus Water Treaty, labeling it a violation tantamount to an act of war.
