Teachers training is essential for the survival of education department: Dr Saadia Virk Rizvi

Karachi, July 04, 2018 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Education, Health, Population Welfare and Women development, Dr Saadia Virk Rizvi has said that the major problem behind the debacle of government education system in Sindh is the recruitment of untrained teachers in past. These teachers are burden on our system; they must be trained and equipped with latest trends and techniques to recover the loss. This she said while presiding the meeting of Education Department regarding teachers training program at her office.

She added that teachers played the pivotal role to nourish the children. They are role models for their students. Teachers must be filled with required useful trainings of capacity building and psychological workshops to handle the students more effectively and efficiently. These programs should be renewed time to time by the support of private institutions.

Dr Saadia Rizvi also said that we also need to analyse the reasons behind the escalating rate of dropouts, especially in female students. Our prime objective is to provide equal standard in government schools as compare to private institutes.

The meeting was attended by Secretary School Education Madam Aalia Shahid, Secretary Collage Education Lubna Sallah uddin, Project Director Reform Support unit Dr Muhammad Soomro, and the representatives of Provincial Institute of Teachers Education (PITE), Sindh Teachers Education development Authority (STEDA), The Citizen foundation and others.
