TeH concerned over continued detention of its activist

Srinagar, February 01, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir (TeH) has expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention and deteriorating health of its activist, Abdul Lateef Dar. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Abdul Lateef Dar was arrested in 2012 and till date had been kept in different jails of the territory. He said now his elder brother, Rayees Ahmad has been martyred by Indian soldiers and there is no one to look after his aged parents.

The spokesman deplored that Abdul Lateef Dar was not being presented before court and his illegal detention was being prolonged without any reason. He said that the detainee should have been released on humanitarian basis but instead of his release he was shifted from Srinagar Central Jail to Kupwara. The spokesman demanded unconditional release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists including Abdul Lateef Dar.
