MITHI:Various areas of the desert region of Thar on Wednesday evening received moderate to heavy rain of the `monsoon season.
The areas of Chhachhro, Islamkot and Nagarparkar received rainfall with thunderstorm, bringing the smiles on the faces of Tharis, who totally depend upon the rain both for the crop cultivation and drinking water.
The reports said that after the rainwater accumulated in the shallow ponds locally called Tarais and residents told the media persons that they would get water for them and their livestock for next few weeks. It was raining in various of three talukas when this story was filed.
