Police in Thatta successfully recovered a stolen Toyota Altis Corolla care on Saturday in the Gharo area, which had been snatched at gunpoint from a citizen in Karachi.
Authorities reported that the car, bearing the license plate BQG-727, was snatched from Muhammad Fawad Farooq in Karachi and was tracked heading towards Thatta. Acting on a tip-off, Sakro and Gharo police conducted checking on the road.
Upon noticing police pursuit, the suspects abandoned the car near Pir Bukhari’s D-Nali close to Gharo, opening fire as they fled into the nearby forest. The police recovered the stolen vehicle along with the victim’s personal belongings, including his identity card, ATM card, and driving license.
A search operation has been launched to locate and apprehend the robbers. SSP Thatta, Dr. Muhammad Imran Khan, praised the police team for their prompt response and ordered the issuance of commendation certificates.
