KARACHI:Administrator Karachi, Sindh governments Spokesman Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Sunday said that in the present circumstances public-private partnership is the best way to work and through it many unfinished projects can be completed.
“The third Urban Forest was inaugurated today (Sunday) in Clifton and is being named after Mrs. Dina Mistry for her 60 years of outstanding service in the field of education,” the Administrator expressed these views while inaugurating Urban Forest in Clifton here.
PPP South District President Khalil Hoot, General Secretary Karamullah Waqasi, Director General Parks Junaidullah Khan and other officials and local PPP leaders were also present on the occasion. The Administrator Karachi said that as the political temperature of this country has risen and so have the streets, open public spaces and gardens provide relief to citizens during the summer.
“I have made tree planting and fixing of parks one of my priorities and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto is playing his role to fix the political temperature,” he added. Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that they are trying to reduce the effects of heat through tree planting and urban forest.
“I visited the Urban Forest and instructed the Parks Department to improve it and Imtiaz Superstore also cooperated with us in this regard,” he added. The Administrator said that thousands of plants have been planted in this one acre urban forest, which is being opened for the people of Karachi. Reading Corner and Tea Corner have also been set up in the urban forest.
He said that the park is being named after a great lady Mrs. Dina Mastri who spent 60 years of her life in educating the children of Karachi and all her life for the education and training of our generation. He said that I am trying to start work of Sindh Solid Waste Management Board in Central District in next one month so that the residents can also get relief regarding garbage. The Administrator said that the political parties which have not yet announced to join the opposition will do so in due course.
