Pakistan’s information technology exports are expected to exceed $4.5 billion in the current fiscal year, Information Technology Minister Shaza Fatima told the House during the National Assembly’s question hour today that IT exports have increased by up to twenty percent.
The minister revealed that IT exports have increased by up to twenty percent, indicating strong expansion in this sector. Over the past few years, the country’s exports in this field have effectively doubled, reflecting the remarkable progress achieved in the IT industry.
Minister Fatima also elaborated on current initiatives for human resource development in the IT sector. These efforts are considered crucial to maintaining and enhancing the growth momentum of Pakistan’s technology exports.
In a related update, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry informed the assembly about progress in disaster forecasting. The national disaster management has introduced an advanced system for accurate weather situation forecasting. This system ensures the timely provision of information to provincial disaster management, helping to mitigate potential damages during severe weather conditions.
Additionally, Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Syed Imran Ahmed Shah highlighted the ongoing assistance provided to economically vulnerable families. The Benazir Income Support Program provides financial assistance to over ten million families, offering a vital safety net for the nation’s most vulnerable segment.
