Thousands attend funerals of Pulwama martyrs

Srinagar, February 19, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of mourners today attended the funeral prayers of the Kashmiri youth martyred by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Pinglena village of Pulwama district.

The troops killed Hilal Ahmad Naiko, Fahd, Kamran and Mushtaq Ahmad Butt during the operation in the district, yesterday. As the bodies of the martyrs were brought to their hometown, Pinglena, thousands of people converged in the village to participate in their last rites.

Five back-to-back rounds of funerals were held for Hilal Ahmad Naikoo and other martyrs. Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League General Secretary, Mohammad Rafiq Ganai led the prayers.

The martyrs were buried amid pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans. Meanwhile, Hurriyat leader Mushtaqul Islam, the forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir and Islami Tanzeem Azadi Jammu and Kashmir in their separate statements paid glowing tributes to the Pulwama martyrs.
