Thrashing of shopkeeper by troops in Tral area denounced

Srinagar, March 26, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has strongly condemned the thrashing of a shopkeeper and vandalization of his property by Indian army at Mandoora in Tral area of Pulwama district. The HCBA in a statement in Srinagar also expressed solidarity with the families of victims of Indian brutal actions in Pathribal and Brakpora areas of Islamabad district.

Five civilians were picked up from different parts of the district and were killed in a fake encounter by army at Pathribal on 25th March, 2000 and subsequently, eight more persons, who were protesting against the said killing, were killed in Brakpora by the troops besides injuring dozens others.

The HCBA said the Kashmir dispute has to be settled by Pakistan and India through a meaningful, sustained, sincere and result-oriented dialogue, keeping in view the aspirations of the people of Kashmir and the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council.
