Authorities on Friday claimed to have dismantled a three-member criminal gang implicated in numerous snatching incidents, recovering stolen assets and illegal firearms in a targeted operation conducted by the Sabzi Mandi police station.
A police team, employing a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence, successfully captured the wanted individuals. The suspects were identified as Sher Khan, Chinar Gul, and Ifthikhar Gul.
During the operation, law enforcement officials seized snatched cash, multiple mobile phones, and a cache of weapons along with ammunition from the possession of the accused.
Formal cases have been registered against the apprehended trio, and a comprehensive investigation is now underway to uncover the full extent of their criminal activities.
This successful operation is part of a wider, large-scale crackdown initiated across the federal capital on the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The initiative targets individuals involved in robbery, snatching, and other severe offenses, which officials report has led to a notable reduction in major criminal incidents.
The IGP has reiterated his instructions to all police officers to maintain stringent measures against those who deprive citizens of their valuable property. Furthermore, he encouraged public cooperation, urging residents to immediately report any suspicious individuals or objects to their local police station or through the dedicated emergency helpline, ‘Pucar-15.’
