Time for Indian Muslims to demand separate country: IOK Mufti

Srinagar, January 30, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Personal Law Board and Deputy Grand Mufti, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam has said that it is the time for Indian Muslims to demand a separate country within India. Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam addressing a press conference in Srinagar, today, said that Muslims were being harassed on various pretexts in India.

“India is moving on the path of intolerance. Muslims are being harassed on the various pretexts. Sometimes they are being harassed on the pretext of love jihad, sometimes it is cow vigilantism or triple talaq,” he added.

He said Muslim community is the second largest in India and if same situation continues, it is time for them to demand a separate country for them. “In India, Muslims are the second largest community. Pakistan was formed by 17 crore population. I think if same situation continues for Muslims, they should now demand a separate country,” he said, adding “it is time for them”. Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam also lashed out at the PDP-BJP regime in occupied Kashmir, saying that they have pushed the Kashmiri people towards destruction in a planned manner.
