A severely injured Indian sailor aboard a Liberia-flagged tanker was provided with emergency medical aid, thanks to the prompt action of the Pakistani maritime authorities. The Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Center (JMICC) of the Pakistani Navy responded to an emergency call for immediate medical evacuation of a crew member from the MT High Leader, an oil/chemical tanker fully manned by Indians.
The JMICC immediately initiated maritime protocols, resulting in the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) rescuing the distressed sailor. On June 18, 2025, the affected individual was transferred to a hospital in Karachi for immediate medical treatment.
This successful rescue operation demonstrates the readiness and responsiveness of Pakistan’s maritime security installations. Ignoring race or nationality, the coordination and swift implementation maintain international maritime safety standards, highlighting the steadfast commitment of the Pakistani Navy.
