Karachi, April 12, 2019 (PPI-OT): Shaikh Mohammad Shafiq, welcomed Yury Kozlov, Representative of the Russian Federation at PRGMEA House. During meeting he presented overview the export of value added textile to Russia and potential of Pakistani cotton in Russian markets. Exchanging views with the PRGMEA members Yury Kozlov informed about huge potential to enhance trade volume between Pakistan and Russia at present.
He added that Russia has also offered its assistance to expand the production capacity of the Pakistan Steel Mills, Karachi. Besides, Pakistan and Russia are currently cooperating in numerous projects including the construction of north and south gas pipeline from Karachi to Lahore besides working on a 600MW project at Jamshoro Power Plant.
He also informed about improvement of direct banking channels through State Bank of Pakistan and the Central Bank of Russian Federation who had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in January 2018. He said that Russian companies were keen to explore opportunities in Pakistan whereas the business and industrial community of PRGMEA should look into the possibility of participating in numerous trade exhibitions in Russia.
On suggestion of PRGMEA for trade delegation, opening office in Russia as well as visa facilities Yury ensure to furnish all assistance for PRGMEA members in particular. Deputy Trade Representative of Russia, Ruslan Aliev, Chief Coordinator, Shaikh Mohammad Shafiq, Members Central and executive Committee and members also present on the occasion.
