Training session of HR and CP officers concluded

Islamabad, January 07, 2018 (PPI-OT):The first phase of training of Human Rights and Community Police officers appointed at all police stations of the federal capital has been completed on Sunday. Inspector General of Police Islamabad Sultan Azam Temuri graced the concluding ceremony of the training here at Policeline Headquarter Islamabad. The event was attended by SSP (Operations) Islamabad Sajid Kiyani, representatives of Rozan and HR and CP officers of all police stations of Islamabad. The IGP distributed the certificates among the police officers participated in the training session.

Addressing the ceremony, Sultan Azam Temuri said this was the first training phase in which it was necessary to aware the officers about the objectives of HR and CP. Today community policing was considered the most successful method of the policing throughout the world, he said, adding that all developed countries were practicing this method. He said in modern ear police was not able to work separately to protect the lives and property of citizens. Public cooperation to the police was need of time, he maintained. If the public, he said, was unhappy with the police and have no confidence on it then department wouldn’t be able to succeed in its objectives.

He said the objective of the police was to facilitate and relief the public to ease their lives. The IGP said there were three parts of community policing. In first part, the police approached the public, secondly people informed the department about their problems and then thirdly police address their issues with their cooperation. He said police has to end its fear from heart of public to achieve their goal in accordance of community policing.

Addressing the police officers, he said, “You have to go to the community and listen their problems.” Community police centers were being established in all police stations of the federal capital where the citizen were able to come and discuss their issues with the police, he said, adding that the senior police officers would also give times to these centers for resolving the public problems and complaints. The IGP said “We have to work efficiently to make the Islamabad police the best and exemplary police of the world and we have to adopt basic ethics to achieve our goal.” The department would show zero tolerance against corruption, he concluded.
