Transporters warn of protest against Customs official

QUETTA: Malik Noor Muhammad Shahwani, President, Balochistan Goods Truck Owners Association has demanded of the higher authorities to take notice of the high handedness of Director Customs (Intelligence) and his subordinate staff; otherwise, transporters would be compelled to stage protest sit-in on Airport Road and Western Bypass area of the provincial capital against the behaviour of Director Customs (Intelligence), Quetta.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Sunday, he said that against the behaviour of Director Customs (Intelligence), traders and Customs Clearing Agents observed strike by closing their businesses.

On behalf of transporters, he demanded Corps Commander Southern Command, Chief Minister, Balochistan, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and other authorities to take notice of the high handedness of Director Customs (Intelligence) and his subordinate staff otherwise transporters would stage sit-in on Airport Road and Western Bypass areas of the provincial capital against the behaviour of Director Customs (Intellegence), Quetta. On the occasion, Haji Abdul Baqi Kakar, General Secretary, Balochistan Goods Truck Owners Association, Muhammad Amin Sumalani, Ahmed Shah Marri, Attaullah Kakar, Suhail Khan Kakar, Haji Sardar Muhammad, Haji Muhammad Hanif and others were also present.
