Dera Ismail Khan: A top commander of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Daraban tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan, according to a report on Monday.
The security forces conducted the operation against the terrorists on May 1 on information about the presence of terrorists in the area. According to sources, a senior commander of TTP Gandapur Jabar Shah was killed while two terrorists were injured during the operation.
The slain terrorist was involved in attacks on lawmen, volunteers, and polio teams in Daraban. He was also active in extortion for TTP. This is the second consecutive success of security forces in the area as they sent two terrorists to hell during a similar operation last day. The killing of Jabar Shah is considered a heavy blow to the militant group, sources said.
