Two newly-appointed additional judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) took the oath of their office here at the IHC on Monday.

Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Justice Aamer Farooq, administered the oath. Those who took the oath are: Justice Raja Inaam Ameen Minhas and Justice Muhammad Azam Khan.

Both the Additional Judges of the Islamabad High Court have been appointed for a period of one year with effect from the date they took oath of their office. The Law Ministry had notified the appointment of both the judges on January 18, 2025.

Before appointment as additional judge of the IHC, Raja Inaam Ameen Minhas, being a prominent lawyer, played a key role in enhancing the vacancies of IHC judges when he was president of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA). He was also part of the Senate Committee on Legal Reforms at that time.

Prior to appointment as additional judge of the IHC, Muhammad Azam Khan served as an additional district and sessions judge in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Judicial Service until he was transferred to Islamabad Judicial Service in 2012.
