Two more UK MPs support Kashmiris’ self-determination

London, October 21, 2019 (PPI-OT): Two more Members of British Parliament condemned the lockdown and communications blackout in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The MPs also supported the Kashmiris’ right of self-determination. Matt Rodda, MP, said that it is unfortunate that people of Kashmir are under clampdown since the past 77 days saying he will continue to raise the voice for the voiceless people of Kashmir.

“In this era of technology mobile phone and internet is need of the hour and I was shocked to learn that nine million people in Kashmir have no cell phone and internet facility due to shutdown by the Indian government on August 5,” MP Rodda added. Dr Phillips Lee, MP, said that world has to listen now the Kashmiris who want right of self-determination and the United Nations ought to implement their resolutions to settle this vexed issue once and for all.

On the occasion President AJK Sardar Masood Khan thanked the MPs for supporting Kashmir cause and once again appealed to the world community to come forward and save South Asia’s peace that has been put at stake by Indian government while caging the nine million innocent people in the occupied territory.

Chairman Public Accounts Committee (PAC) AJK Assembly, Abdur Rashid Turabi said that India has arrested all IOK leadership that shows how New Delhi government’s writ exists in the disputed area and how they enjoy the mass support in the streets of occupied area. “Kashmiris are fighting as per the UN resolutions and world community should take the notice of human rights abuses and come with a final will for the permanent settlement of Kashmir dispute,” Turabi added.

Kashmiri leader Altaf Ahmad Butt said that Kashmiris suffered a lot since the last 77 days saying only fruit and handicrafts industries suffered $2billion loss while more than five lakh people have lost their private jobs. President Tehreek-e-Kashmir Raja Fahim Kayani said that Kashmiris voices are now echoed in the every city and village of UK. The others who spoke on the occasion were Mohiudin Dar, Raja Shakeel, Mian M Saleem, Councillor Tahir Maher, Councillor Abdul Loyes and Wokingham Borough Council Chadhry Manzoor Hussain.
