KARACHI: UK MPs hosted a reception in honour of Crescent Art Gallery (CAG) Chairman Nasir Javed and his delegation in UK Parliament.

According to a statement issued by CAG on Tuesday, UK MPs Lord Wajid Khan, MP Naz Shah, president UK International Community Welfare Shahzad Hayat, Cami Bendinok and others were also present. Speaking on the occasion, Lord Wajid Khan said that the services of Crescent Art Gallery for the promotion of art and culture in Pakistan are praiseworthy. He assured his all-out cooperation in holding an art exhibition in the UK.

However, Shahzad Hayat said that successful art shows have already been held at Sindh Governor House and five-star hotels of Sindh, Punjab and KPK. He said the people of the UK were great art lovers. Speaking on the occasion, Nasir said that he wanted to introduce the whole world with art work of the Pakistani artists. He said there was a great art talent in Pakistan and showcasing it worldwide was their mission.

He said the Crescent Art Gallery was continuously holding art shows in Karachi and other parts of the world. He said scope in this regard would be widened further. He said the junior artists would be provided ample chances to learn from their seniors. The guests and hosts on the occasion exchanged artwork books and certificates of the UK queen’s platinum jubilee. Lord Khan presented a special shield to Nasir.
