The UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net) Pakistan Chapter, under the aegis of the Institute of Business Management, hosted a pivotal webinar focusing on the integration of entrepreneurial skills in foundational education.
The event, held in partnership with the National Curriculum Council, aimed to explore innovative methods for embedding entrepreneurship into early childhood curricula.
Moderated by Ms. Zehra Habib and co-moderated by Mr. Raza Abbas, the session featured insights from key education experts, including Dr. Nasreen Bano and Ms. Saima Abbas, among others. Discussions emphasized the need for age-appropriate curricula to nurture skills like innovation, creativity, and critical thinking from an early age. Ms. Abbas underscored the importance of structured assessments to enhance the value of these skills in the educational framework.
Dr. Bano shared insights into public sector efforts to incorporate entrepreneurship in education, while Ms. Shafia Rafique highlighted the role of entrepreneurial learning in fostering problem-solving abilities in young learners. Ms. Amna Azhar advocated for project-based and idea-generation workshops to stimulate innovation among children.
The event also involved a comprehensive nationwide survey, gathering input from public and private stakeholders. The insights will contribute to a policy recommendation document aimed at guiding the integration of entrepreneurship education in schools across Pakistan and globally.
