Karachi, October 02, 2018 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah has said the Services General Administration and Coordination Department is the main Department of the Provincial Secretariat, which comprises 03 (three) wings i.e. Services, General Administration and Implementation and Coordination Wing. He expressed these views while presiding a meeting of the Participants of 78th Pre- Service Course for Provincial Management Services (PMS) and ETOs- Excise and Taxation Services Officer of KPK, who called on the CS Sindh in connection with their study tour to Sindh.
The Chief Secretary noted that all three wings of the SGA and CD are individually headed by the Secretary Services, Secretary GA and Secretary Implementation and coordination, accordingly. He said that acute performance evaluates the service delivery system. To the queries of the participants the Chief Secretary elucidated that Civil Service in Sindh is very strong, we follow rules and regulation and rules of business, the disciplinary action is also taken in accordance with the rules and regulations, he added.
Mumtaz Ali Shah also pointed out the Services of District Management start from the post of Assistant Commissioner in Sindh, while in other provinces the post of extra Assistant Commissioner pertains to the initial assignment of District Management Services. He maintained that the scale of appreciation and punishment is a must for strengthening the good governance, as well, Shah elaborated that ACR (Annual Confidential Reports) are also maintained in this regard.
Secretary Services Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Secretary General Administration Abdul Wahab Soomro and others also briefed about the functions of respective wings of SGA and CD. Meantime a delegation of “UNFAO” (Food and Agricultural Organization of United Nations) led by eminent Agriculturist. Ms. Genevieve Hussain called on Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah and exchanged views to introduce UNFAO interventions in Sindh. The Chief Secretary assured UNFAO team to cooperate accordingly.
