Islamabad, July 05, 2018 (PPI-OT): President Mamnoon Hussain has said that universities and higher education institutions play an important role in the development of economy and human resource of the country. The performance of HEC in this regard is highly commendable, he added. The President said this while talking to Former Chairman, Higher Education Commission Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed who paid a farewell call on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Thursday.
The President appreciated the efforts of Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed as Chairman of HEC for the promotion of higher education in the country. The President hoped that he will continue his services for the promotion of higher education in future. On the occasion, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed also presented the report “Building Knowledge-Based Economy (2013-2017)” to the President.
