Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh, Kashif Saeed Shaikh, condemned the US attack on Iran, calling it “open terrorism” and a violation of the UN Charter and international laws. Addressing a press conference in Kandiaro on June 22, Shaikh demanded an immediate meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to condemn the aggression and urged Muslim countries to support Iran.
Shaikh criticized the nomination of former US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, calling him “the biggest terrorist of this century” for his alleged involvement in attacks on Iran and the killing of thousands of people in Gaza. He likened this to the sentiments of the Pakistani people, who he claimed stand with the people of Iran and Gaza.
The politician also addressed the rising incidents of crime in Sindh, criticizing the 17-year incompetence of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party government for its failure to tackle insecurity. He stressed the government’s responsibility to prioritize the safety and well-being of citizens.
Shaikh further condemned the Moro incident and the legal proceedings against the Jatoi family, terming them politically motivated. He also criticized the national budget, calling it pro-rich and stating that it burdened the poor with increased taxes on essential commodities. He cited the hefty salaries and privileges of National Assembly members as an example of the government’s misplaced priorities.
