KARACHI: Consul General of United States to Karachi Mark Stroh leading a delegation held a meeting with Chief Secretary Sindh Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput at Sindh Secretariat on Thursday.
The US delegation also included Political and Economic Chief Alexandra Zetel and others. During the meeting, bilateral cooperation and other issues of mutual interest were discussed. The Chief Secretary Sindh informed the US delegation about education, health, trade, economic and social developments in Sindh.
The US delegation admired the steps taken in the field of health in Sindh, particularly establishments of Gambat Institute Medical Sciences and NICVD. The US delegation agreed to extend support for the welfare of people of Sindh. The US Consul General said he would create opportunities for the US investors in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Sindh.
Both sides expressed their interest in enhancing academic ties between Pakistani and US universities especially in information technology sector. The infrastructure development of Karachi and other issues were also discussed in the meeting. Chief Secretary Sindh presented Sindhi Topi and Ajrak to the US team.
