The Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, met with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Ali Sher Tukhtayev, at the Parliament House to discuss enhancing bilateral relations, particularly focusing on parliamentary and economic cooperation.
During the conversation, both parties expressed deep appreciation for the historical and cultural links uniting Pakistan and Uzbekistan. The Speaker emphasized the importance of strengthening parliamentary ties to promote closer relations between the people of the two nations. He noted that the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship Group is actively facilitating these discussions.
Ambassador Tukhtayev praised the efforts of the National Assembly Speaker to promote Pakistan-Uzbek parliamentary connections and deemed the recent visit of Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, to Uzbekistan as a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations.
Both leaders agreed that there are extensive opportunities to expand cooperation in trade and economic sectors. The Uzbek Ambassador extended an invitation to Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for an official visit to Uzbekistan, aimed at further strengthening the growing partnership.
The meeting highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and sustainable development, with both countries looking forward to increased cooperation and mutual prosperity in the future.
