VDC member shoots at father in Kathua

Jammu, February 01, 2021 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, an Indian army sponsored village defense committee (VDC) member shot at and injured his father in Kathua district. The VDC member Balkar Singh opened fire from his 303 rifle on his father, Krishan Singh after an altercation between them over some domestic issue at Dasanu in Hiranagar area of the district, officials said.

Krishan was seriously injured in the incident, officials said. The villagers rushed to the spot and overpowered the accused who was later handed over to the police along with the weapon of offense. The injured was rushed to district hospital and later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for specialised treatment, they added.
