SHIKARPUR: A villager was kidnapped from a fish pond at village New Juneja village in the jurisdiction of Daim Malik Police Station on Wednesday.

According to a report, a villager, Fateh Muhammad Junejo, was kidnapped by a group of armed men at gunpoint. The relatives and villagers blocked the Sukkur – Shikarpur section of National Highway and burnt the tyres. The vehicular traffic was suspended for hours.

The angry protesters raised slogans against growing lawlessness. The police have failed to reopen the road for vehicular traffic. MNA Al-Haj Ghous Bux Khan Mahar talked with the affected family and assured them of helping them in getting back their beloved at earliest following which the road was reopen for vehicular traffic.
