KARACHI: The water level in three major reservoirs of the country including Tarbela Dam, Mangla Dam, and Chashma Barrage has reached the dead level, according to a report on Monday.

Following the depletion of water to an alarming level in Tarbela Dam and Chashma Barrage, the Mangla Dam too has reached the dead level, leaving the total storage of water at 79,000-acre feet in it. According to the officials of the Indus River System Authority (Irsa), the water inflow in Tarbela Dam is 89,400 cusecs, whereas, the water outflow in it is 88,600 cusecs. Similarly, Mangla Dam has an inflow of 21,300 cusecs of water and an outflow of 23,700 cusecs of water, said the Irsa officials.

Moreover, the water inflow in Chashma Barrage is 17,400 cusecs, whereas, the water outflow in it is 13,100 cusecs. Furthermore, the water inflow in Chenab River at Head Marala is 26,800 cusecs while the water outflow is 17,200 cusecs. At Nowshera, the Kabul River has an inflow of 21,300 cusecs of water and an outflow of 21,300 cusecs of water.
