The Provincial Ombudsman Sindh has disposed of the petition of a resident of PECHS Block 15-G against the Karachi Water and Supply Corporation for non-supply of water.

According to a statement issued from Sindh Information Dept today, the petitioner, Dr Sara Ijaz Hussain, had submitted a petition to the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh that despite submitting water bills and complaints, KW and SC is not supplying water for two years, while the residents of 15-F and 15-H are being facilitated.

In the hearing presided over by the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Executive Engineer Jamshed Town admitted that after investigating the matter, it has come to light that the applicant and other residents are not being supplied water due to the broken water supply line leading to the applicant’s house.

Rajput directed Executive Engineer Jamshed Town to immediately resolve the issue. After which the problem was resolved by repairing the broken water line. On the other hand, Ikhtiar Ali, a resident of Bulrri Shah Karim Tando Muhammad Khan, had submitted a petition against the opposition for stopping water supply on his cultivated land in Deh Dodi. On which the Provincial Ombudsman summoned the Executive Engineer Phuleli Canal Division and ordered to provide the due share of water to the applicant. Later, the Irrigation Department resolved the issue and restored the proposed water supply to the applicant Ikhtiar Ali.

Rajput has said that the public’s trust in the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh is increasing due to the prompt resolution of complaints against government departments, which is a source of satisfaction.
