Islamabad, August 08, 2020 (PPI-OT): Warning

Heavy downpour may generate flash flooding in local nullahs of Balochistan today. All Concerned Authorities are advised to remain Alert. Precautions should be taken in operating the local reservoirs/dams.

Synoptic Situation

A strong monsoon low pressure area is present over Balochistan. Monsoon currents are also penetrating in upper parts of the country. Easterly wave is also affecting other parts of the country.


Rain wind-thunderstorm is expected in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kashmir, Balochistan and Sindh. While at a few places in south Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavy fall may also be expected in different districts of upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan during the period.


Rain wind-thunderstorm is expected in upper Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and lower Balochistan. Heavy fall may also be expected in Islamabad, Kashmir, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the period.
