What is Madrassa: Deeni Madaris and Modern Demands: Council of Islamic Ideology symposium reviews Dr. Ibrahim Mussa’s book

Islamabad, January 11, 2018 (PPI-OT):Today, the 11th January, 2018 in the auditorium of Council of Islamic Ideology, in a symposium, the book “What is Madrassa: Deeni Madaris and Modern Demands” written by Dr. Ibrahim Mussa, Notre Dame University, US, was presented for critical review. The Resource Person, Dr. Aamir Taseen, Ex-Chairman, Madrassa Education Board explained the phase history of Madaris in Pakistan, Problems and Solutions, Government education policy, Statistics of Madaris, Education board and Wafaq, Modern Education Institutes, Registration of Madaris, and their demand.

He termed it is surprising how so much of the writer approach has remained centred on the Idea regarding importance of Religious Scholars, History of Madaris in India, Madaris system and future of Madaris, Policies and evaluation. He further said that there are 40 Lakh students getting knowledge from the Madaris. He said that only that change in Madrasa can succeed which is routed from within the Madaris.

Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology, explained the role of CII, which is continuation of Constitution of Pakistan 1973 has been playing key role in Islamic legislation. He also stressed that “Madrasa Studies” may be introduced in the Curriculum. Madaris should provide Islamic teachers to the society and prayer leaders with melodious voices for attracting people to offer prayers with zeal and enthusiasm.
