A complete wheeljam strike was observed on Monday across various inter-provincial highways of Balochistan, protesting the abduction of Muhammad Musawir Kakar.
The strike, called by the sit-in committee, affected key routes including Yaru, Dasht, Lakpass, Bori, and Kuchlak. Protestors demanded the safe return of the 12-year-old boy, who was kidnapped on November 15 by armed men in the Patel Bagh area of Quetta while traveling in a school van.
In response to the abduction, Kakar’s relatives began a sit-in protest at Serena Chowk, calling for immediate action. Educational institutions in Quetta remained closed in observance of the strike, as tensions escalated.
The sit-in committee warned that if the boy’s release was not secured, another protest would be organized at Buleli. The community remains on edge as authorities work to resolve the situation.
