Where is UN’s conscience and lawful duty in IOK?

Islamabad, September 05, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has said that the United Nations has to decide its fate for life or death; if the World Body wants to live, it should decide Kashmir for the sake of humanity and freedom, if it wants otherwise, it has its choice.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said, humanity will find the best possible alternative but will not surrender before killers of humanity. He said, 31 fateful days have passed since occupied Kashmir was put under horrible army siege, bifurcated, locked up, made union territory and banned every mode of media and communications by India.

He said, as a result of continued curfew, over 8 million people live in siege, thousands of people have been imprisoned, hundreds of political leaders from different organizations are under custody, an unknown number of kids and youth have been abducted from their homes in nocturnal raids and there is no contact with any of them. “How many people have been killed as a result of extra-judicial police actions during the last one month is yet to be ascertained in this graveyard silence. No Kashmiri has any access to medicines or life saving drugs. Army and paramilitary forces of all categories have been rushed to Jammu, valley and Kargil and there are reports of RSS gangs in different regions and cities of the territory,” he said.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani urged the UN to convene an extraordinary meeting and invoke necessary clauses of its Charter to bring an end to the ugly situation created by India in occupied Kashmir. He reiterated the Kashmiris’ demand for freedom, right to self-determination and withdrawal of all Indian troops from the territory to pave way for dialogue and plebiscite. He also appealed to the EU, OIC, Shanghai Cooperation Committee and big powers to come forward and save the occupied territory from horrific colonial designs of India which has potential to ignite war in South Asia.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani hoped that in this hour of great trial and trouble, Pakistan would expedite its worldwide political and diplomatic campaign and both people of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan would work with unity and national solidarity for the besieged millions of the people of occupied Kashmir.

Strongly condemning Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir, he warned emotional situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir could take any turn near the Line of Control and threaten life of people as the people’s march towards it is spreading all around due to Indian siege of Kashmir.

He said the Government of Pakistan should come up with its own Action Plan to liberate the occupied territory. India must not be allowed to do what Israel did to Palestine in 1948, 1950s, 1960s and on wards to grab lands of the Palestinians and changed demography and identity of the Arab State of Muslims.
