LORALAI:World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Pakistan, Dr. Palita Mahipala, said that WHO is continuing its services to provide basic health care needs. He was speaking on Sunday on the occasion of inauguration of Mega Health Camp at Ghazgai Minara Afghan Refugee Camp in collaboration with the Health Department and the office of Deputy Commissioner Loralai under the auspices of Dopasi Foundation.
Director General Health Services, Dr. Noor Qazi, Deputy Commissioner, Loralai Dr. Atiq Shahwani, District Health Officer, Dr. Shabir Mengal, Representative of Provincial TB Control Program Balochistan, Dr. Zaffar Khosti, Dr. Sher Afghan Raisani, Dr. Bahawal Chhalgari, Kamran Bangalzai from Multi Country Grant and Mahmood Khan MusaKhail from UNHCR were also present. Earlier Chief Executive Officer of Dopasi Foundation Azhar Karam Shah, and Director Programs Kinz-ul-Iman, welcomed the guests.
Representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Pakistan Dr. Palita Mahipala distributed doll bags to the children of Afghan refugees and inquired about the condition of patients receiving services at OPD. A WHO representative also met with a disabled child and promised to send him a wheelchair. Free medicine and OPD services were provided to 400 people during the camp.
Dr. Palita Mahipalane, WHO Representative in Pakistan, said that the World Health Organization is paying special attention to primary health care. He added that WHO is working for the eradication of polio and Covid-19 and other deadly diseases. He announced to donate five ambulances to the teaching hospital Loralai.
