A woman and a man sustained severe burn injuries in Khairpur on Sunday when an LPG cylinder exploded due to low gas pressure and load shedding in the area.

According to a report, the explosion occurred at a house in Azam Colony of the city when tea was being prepared. The explosion created a fire, severely injuring Sonia Qureshi and Nasir Qureshi.

The victims were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Khairpur for treatment. Local residents have raised concerns over the ongoing gas crisis, highlighting that more than 80 neighborhoods and colonies in Khairpur suffer from either extremely low gas pressure or frequent load shedding. This has forced many residents to rely on LPG cylinders for cooking.

Citizens have pointed out that since the appointment of the current zonal manager of the Sui Gas office in Khairpur, the issue of low pressure and load shedding has worsened.

In light of the incident, local residents have demanded an investigation into the matter, urging the authorities to restore adequate gas pressure and address the load shedding issues to prevent further tragedies.
