Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari met with World Bank Country Director Najy Benhassine to explore the feasibility of the Matiari-Moro-Rahim Yar Khan Transmission Line Project, a critical initiative aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s energy infrastructure.

A press release indicated that the project seeks to bolster the stability and performance of the national transmission network by improving voltage stability and ensuring efficient electricity transmission from north to south. The initiative is also expected to aid in the integration of large-scale renewable energy sources.

The meeting, which also included World Bank Group experts and IFC Country Manager Zeeshan Sheikh, covered multiple aspects of the transmission line project. Minister of State Abdul Rehman Kanju was also present during the discussions.
