World Bank’s Country Director for Pakistan appreciates govt efforts for the improvement and progress of water sector in the country

Islamabad, October 10, 2019 (PPI-OT): World Bank’s Country Director for Pakistan, Patchamuthu Illangovan has appreciated the efforts of the incumbent Government especially the Minister for water Resources Faisal Vawda for the improvement and progress of water sector in the country. A delegation led by the World Bank’s Country Director for Pakistan, Patchamuthu Illangovan called on the Federal Minister for water Resources Faisal Vawda here in Islamabad on Thursday. Besides Secretary Water Resources Muhammad Ashraf, other high officials of the ministry were also on the occasion.

World Bank Country Director admired the different endeavours taken by the ministry especially the Minister for Water Resources Mr. Vawda towards resolution of the Dasu Hydropower Project land acquisition issues including the improvement of water sector. They discussed different matters related to the water sector capacity including the work progress of the ongoing hydropower projects. The Minister also apprised him about the details of different endeavours taken by the ministry along with the action plan in the field of water resources.
