Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, declaring the illegal Israeli siege of Gaza and the obstruction of humanitarian aid a “war crime”, has said that the world community must take immediate and effective measures to stop the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
In a message today on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, has strongly demanded an immediate end to the ongoing “aggression and genocide”.
The Speaker, emphasizing the gravity of the situation, said that Israeli actions have created the “worst humanitarian crisis” and the world community must take immediate and effective measures to stop it.
He highlighted that access to basic necessities like food, medicine, and water for the population of Gaza is severely affected, giving rise to a deep human tragedy that has displaced millions of people and destroyed entire settlements.
The martyrdoms of innocent children, women, the elderly, and the sick were declared a matter of grave concern for all of humanity.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq stressed that depriving Palestinians of their fundamental right to self-determination is an inhumane act and called upon the world community to fulfill its responsibilities under international law.
He reiterated the unwavering support and complete solidarity of the Parliament of Pakistan, saying that the legislative body has passed several unanimous resolutions in support of the Palestinians’ right to self-determination.
The Speaker observed that global support for the Palestinian position is significantly increasing, and termed the recognition of Palestine by 157 countries a strong endorsement of their struggle.
Emphasizing Pakistan’s long-standing position, he affirmed that the nation has always stood shoulder to shoulder with the Palestinian people and will continue to effectively defend their rights on all global forums.
The address concluded by setting the path for a lasting solution: the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif recognized as its capital.
