Islamabad, September 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmed says the constructive and continuous engagement of the international community with the interim authorities in Afghanistan is imperative for peace and stability in the war-torn country.

Replying to a question during his weekly-news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, he said keeping in view the serious humanitarian situation that is confronting Afghanistan, it is a shared objective of Pakistan and other countries to make a contribution toward a peaceful, stable, and sovereign Afghanistan. Answering another question, the Spokesperson deplored the treatment being meted out to minorities, especially the Muslims in India.

He urged the international community to take notice of the grave human rights violations of the religious minorities in India. He said India needs to refrain from its current disastrous polices with regard to the respect for human rights of minorities. Replying to a question, Asim Iftikhar said Pakistan is very open and straight forward with regard to allowing visits for religious purposes and we maintain that policy and we urge India to reciprocate.
