Yasin Malik leads JRL protest against killings

Srinagar, June 30, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, today, led a protest held under the auspices of the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) against the surge in killings by the Indian troops in the territory. Scores of Hurriyat leaders and activists participated in the demonstration held in Nowhatta area of Srinagar against the civilian killings, including the yesterday’s killing of a boy Faizan Ahmad in Pulwama.

The Hurriyet leaders and activists who participated in the protest included Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Muhammad Shafi Khan, Ghulam Qadar Baig, Sheikh Abdur Rasheed, Abdul Majeed Wani, Engineer Hilal Ahmed War, Syed Muhammad Shafi, Umar Aadil Dar, Imran Ahmed, Nisar Hussain Rather, Syed Imtiaz Haider, Haji Abdul Quddoos, Ashraf Bin Salam, Zahoor Ahmed Butt, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Mushtaq Ahmed Sofi, Farooq Ahmed Sodagar, Ghulam Hussain Mir, Ghulam Nabi Najjar, Sahil Ahmed Dar, Sajjad Ahmed Pala and Gohar Ahmed. The protesters were carrying banners on which messages seeking an end to killings were written.

Muhammad Yasin Malik speaking on the occasion strongly condemned the killing of 10th class student, Faizan Ahmed and said that the Indian forces were targeting innocent youth in the garb of so-called cordon and search operations. He said if arrest, night raids and killing of innocent people were not stopped the Joint Resistance Leadership would launch a mass agitation in the territory.

Muhammad Yasin Malik also expressed concern over the plight of detainees languishing in different jails of India and the occupied territory and urged the international human rights organizations to take notice of the Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the JRL in a statement paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Pulwama and Kupwara and said that the sacrifices rendered by youth for the sacred cause had put responsibilities on the Kashmiris to carry the movement to its logical conclusion. It condemned the excessive use of force against the innocent protestors and killing of Faizan Ahmed. Expressing deep sorrow on the gruesome incident at the hands of occupation forces, it paid rich tributes to the martyr and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.
