KHAIRPUR:A youth was tortured to death mysteriously at Tharu Shah police lockup on Sunday.
According to credible sources, Tharu Shah police arrested youth Azhar Memon for selling gutka and put him in lockup, where he was tortured to death mysteriously.
They made a drama and lodged a murder case against already arrested criminal Mehrab Solangi. However, the relatives of deceased Azhar Memon rejected the police version, strongly protested and blocked the roads.
Talking to newsmen, the victims family told that Azhar was arrested by police in a false case and the police demanded Rs100,000 bribe for his release. The police also collected Rs 70,000, but forced to pay full bribe and on refual, they tortured him to death. They demanded of the Supreme Court and IG Sindh police to lodge the case against SHO police station Tharu Shah and other cops.
