KARACHI: Pakistan’s largest exporter and world-renowned supplier of home textile products, Yunus Textile Mills Limited, has partnered with SAP, a multinational software corporation, to digitalize its business through SAP S/4 HANA, an intelligent and integrated ERP system specialized for businesses of all sizes.
As a vertically integrated company that manages end-to-end production of a wide array of bedding products, the biggest business challenge facing YTM has been the disparate process management with no single source of truth and no real-time inventory view, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.
To counter these problems, the Company is now set to deploy SAP’s most efficient and multidisciplinary ERP system that will facilitate easy batch traceability and global management of volatile supply chains. The ERP also offers Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII) solution which allows real-time production monitoring and provides extensive data analysis equipment. YTM is the first textile organization to implement SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII) along with S4HANA, MII will drive Plant to Enterprise Synchronization by linking ERP business process to Plant Manufacturing Process.
YTM is the first textile organization to implement this integrated intelligent solution, utilizing analytics and workflow tools for identifying problems in the production process and improving its performance.
Pakistan’s textile industry has shown remarkable growth in the last fiscal year, catalyzed further by the earlier disruption to the supply chain due to the pandemic. For an agrarian country like Pakistan whose textile sector is considered the backbone of its national economy, it has become essential for all textile businesses to identify and readily adapt to new market trends and consumer expectations.
Commenting at the SAP contract signing ceremony, Nisar Palla, Chief Operating Officer, Yunus Textile Mills said, “Digitalization is a business-wide challenge. The SAP S/4 HANA accommodates all the necessary features required for a complete and holistic digital transformation of our business model. We look forward to new and improved engagements and transactions in our business through this modification.”
Saquib Ahmad, Managing Director, SAP Pakistan, upon assisting the biggest enterprise in the textile industry, said, “With this successful dealing, SAP has achieved a great milestone in the textile Industry. SAP is always working to ensure the ease of doing business by improving the efficiency of the process, consistency, and quality of our technology. It is our core objective to enable companies to create new business models and revenue sources by employing the latest and intelligent digital machinery.”
