Mirpurkhas police on Wednesday arrested the suspected accused Zahid Khaskheli in the brutal murder of minor Amna daughter of Ghulam Haider. The accused has confessed to this heinous crime, he allegedly strangled the girl to death with a drip tube and threw her body into the Jamrao Canal. Amna’s father had filed an FIR for his daughter’s disappearance on November 4, 2025.
The case, initially registered against unknown persons, took a new turn when a body was discovered in the Dubka Canal on November 9, 2025. After investigation, she was identified as Amna, and the initial medical analysis confirmed that the cause of death was strangulation. On the instructions of SSP Mirpurkhas Dr. Sameer Noor Channa, a special team was formed to investigate the incident. The investigation revealed that Amna was abducted by the accused during school hours, who works as a barber and tried to lure the girl with gifts.
A breakthrough in the case occurred when the special team arrested Zahid Khaskheli near Goth Mubeen Khaskheli on November 12, 2025. During the investigation, the accused confessed to the kidnapping and murder, and stated that he attempted to sexually assault the girl, which resulted in this tragedy upon the girl’s resistance. To avoid arrest, Zahid tried to mislead Amna’s father and the authorities, but was eventually caught.
